HMA is searching for a Principal to move the Planning Committee's creative vision forward. We need a leader who is comfortable with a shared leadership style and understands progressive initiatives. Experience with charters or start ups is preferred. Please consider the following criteria when applying:
A degree in Administration and Supervision
SC certification in Administration
Teaching experience
Understands, accepts, and supports the mission and philosophy of the school
Dedicated to a collaborative management style
Initial contract will be for one year and salary will be linked to enrollment/fundraising criteria set by the Interim Charter Board
HMA is now inviting Teachers to apply for the 2008-2009 school year. The concept of HMA was designed and developed by innovative and successful teachers who believe that teachers are the most vital and knowledgeable component of any school. Teachers must be state certified according to current middle school certification standards or be in the process of acquiring state certification. Teachers must have experience and be knowledgeable in the certified subject area. Applicants who understand or have experience in progressive instructional methods or settings, especially those who have non-traditional certifications, are preferred. Technology (all grades) - (1) Preference to applicants who have the ability to set up, network, and maintain school technology. Additional stipend available.
Health and Recreational Arts (all grades) - (1)

Teachers will be employees of Horizon Middle Academy sponsored by the South Carolina Public Charter School District (not CCSD) and will receive all state employee benefits. HMA will abide by all required SC and Federal employment laws and guidelines. NBC teachers will continue to receive stipends as allowed by the state. HMA will use the same salary schedule as CCSD for instructional staff.
